Frequently asked questions
Which AAFM course is best for a student or fresher?
If you want the strongest finance-career launch, the flagship CWM® is the most popular choice. If you’re brand new or want a lighter start, the CPFS® (beginner) or AWM® (intermediate) are ideal first steps. Pick by the career you want — or ask an advisor.
What’s the difference between CWM, AFA, CPM and CTEP?
CWM® is broad wealth management; AFA® is financial analysis and research; CPM® is portfolio and fund management; CTEP™ is trust, estate and succession planning. They share fundamentals but lead to different careers — choose the one matching your goal.
Can I do these courses right after graduation — am I eligible?
Yes. Most AAFM certifications are open to graduates from any stream, and several let you enrol in your final year and certify after graduation. No specific degree is required for the entry and intermediate programmes.
Do I need a finance background?
No prior finance experience is needed for the beginner and intermediate courses. The curriculum builds from fundamentals to job-ready skills. Expert-level charters simply go deeper, still starting from a solid base.
Are all the courses 100% online, and how long do they take?
Yes, all are delivered online. Durations range from about a month (CPFS®) and six months (CREP®/AWM®) to around a year for expert charters like CWM®, AFA®, CPM®, CTEP™ and Ch.E™, at about 6–7 hours a week.
How much do AAFM courses cost?
Fees range from ₹3,540 (CPFS®) to ₹49,560 (CWM®), with most specialist charters around ₹47,200 and shorter courses around ₹11,800–₹17,700. Fees include study material; exam and certification fees may be separate.
Which is the most affordable, entry-level course?
The Certified Personal Finance Specialist (CPFS®) at ₹3,540 is the most affordable, beginner-friendly starting point — about a month online, no finance background needed, and a stepping stone to CPFS PRO® or the CWM®.
Are AAFM certifications globally recognised?
Yes — they’re awarded under AAFM USA (GAFM) and recognised across 151+ countries, backed by ISO 29990 certification, TÜV accreditation and AACSB/ACBSP recognition, with 800+ university partnerships.
Can I take more than one certification — is there a pathway?
Yes. Many students start with a foundation course (CPFS®/AWM®) and progress to the flagship CWM® or a specialist charter, or add a second specialisation (for example CWM® plus CTEP™) to widen their career options.
How do I enrol?
Choose a course and click Enquire for a brochure and fees, or book free counselling. Registration is completed online through the AAFM India portal; an advisor guides you through eligibility, fees and schedule.
